£200,000 bingo prize

Valerie Hargrave, of Moss Bay, called the National Bingo Game while playing at the Opera Bingo last night. Graves Cumberland, managers of Opera Bingo, confirmed they had a £201,000 winner.

The game is the country’s largest bingo game and has halls around Britain connected between each other for the big prize.

In the past eight years, Graves Cumberland, have paid out over £2.3million to national game winners. And last year Marc Goodwin, of Whitehaven, won £81,000 at Workington’s Opera Bingo.

Other lucky big prize winners have included pensioner Jean Steele, who won £101,000 on her 80th birthday; Anita Matravers who took home £42,000 and Barbara Hinde who scooped £101,000 at the Penrith club.
