Making money is of course the main purpose for a company related to the Gambling business, but giving away money for charities is something very few companies are willing to do. Such is the case of Foxy Bingo in the UK, which organized a special event to raise money for one of the biggest fund raising events for children in the UK: Children in Need.
The event took place last Friday night 14th November. It had the purpose to raise as much money as it was possible, and for it, its organizers tempted regular Bingo players and the general public with a massive £20,000 (approximately 24,000 Euros) in cash on their online site. An additional reason to attract those altruist but gambling reluctant persons into the game, was the announcement that Foxy Bingo would donate every pound raised by the purchase of bingo tickets to the children’s charity.
A total of £12,951 in cash was raised by the selling of this Bingo tickets. The £20,000 jackpot was shared by two players, as they both got a full house in the exact same amount of numbers. Lucky bingo winners “mikeyb73” and “Bonkaru2” are both now £10,000.
Children in Need is an annual British charity organized by the BBC. On its 2008 edition, held on November 14th, the event broke all previous records with a total of £20,991,216 raised by the end of the broadcast, which was tuned by more than 11 million viewers.
