A week ago, Veronica won over 35 million pesos in a slot machine in a bingo handled by Codere, but they refused to pay her the money because they said it was an error of the machine and, in exchange, they offered her the maximum prize according to the current norms.
Her lawyer said that during this week legal actions will be taken, including a penal claim and a civil one and also a denounce to the corresponding entity of Consumer Defense. He said that “A machine failed and therefore the entire system might be failing. We will ask for a deep investigation on the transparency of the gambling systems”.
Veronica also said that no one from Codere, until now, has communicated with her. According to the lawyer, the only thing they did was to send a registered letter saying they offered her the maximum prize according to the current norms, but they don’t explain the mentioned amount or the rules.
She was playing during the dawn of Monday 16th with five cent chips in the Bingo of Lomas del Mirador, when the machine announced her a jackpot, with a pot of 35.000.000 pesos. The bingo is administrated by the Codere Group and it opened last July 20th with over 400 slot machines and the most modern electronic roulette.
