During the first period of the 48-hour strike that is being carried out by the State Workers Association (ATE in Spanish), the adhesion to it was of the 75%. “We are satisfied for the response on the measure”, the secretary of the union, Arturo Godoy, said. “The adhesion was as it was being projected since last week, very important in the Health and Education sectors, and low on the organisms where they are tight to perfect attendance”, he said.

He also said the percentages are about 75%, as last week. He also pointed out that in the Education, the adhesion was of 100%, because no administrative employees have gone to work.

Besides, he said that there has been more adhesion from some organisms: “In the bingo and slots machines sectors there has been a higher adhesion and some other entities which weren’t thought to support the measure as much”.

Godoy expressed that in ATE they are satisfied for the support they have gotten on the measure. They are also expecting for the juridical regimen to treat this issue in their next session. The salaries will be pending, because the government hasn’t made a proposal.
