Biggest win in Bingo

What is thought to be the biggest jackpot in the history of bingo, has been won by Soraya Lowell, aged 38, at the National Bingo game and its Platinum Jackpot last Sunday night, receiving £1,167,795. The moment Mrs. Lowell realized that she had won; she decided to split her winnings with her next-door neighbor.

“I must be on a lucky run just now but I still can’t get my head around that amount of money. It just won’t sink in at all”, says Soraya. The proud mother of four children has decided to share half of her earnings with Agnes O’Neill, aged 68, who is her neighbor and bingo partner who happened to be by her side when she won the jackpot.

In spite of her very fortunate winning, Mrs Lowell is determined to go back to work. Her husband Frankie didn’t believe her when Soraya called him up to tell him the news, she says. Mandy Smith, the bingo hall manager said: “Soraya’s a lovely person. Everyone is over the moon for her because it really couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.”

What started out as a cleaner’s leisure and entertainment time on a Sunday afternoon, ended up being a truly memorable time, not only for Mrs Lowell but also for all the other bingo players that were present that day in the hall. This kind of incident brings hope and motivation for regular bingo players who haven’t had the opportunity of winning so far.
