Before the robbery took place, a video surveillance camera caught the robber seated at the St. Mathew Catholic Church in Hallandale Beach. Afterwards, he robbed, at gunpoint, the lady that was counting the money.

The man stood up, looked around and walked into the bingo area, pulled a gun and asked the volunteer for the money.

As the robbery took place, almost 80 elderly bingo players continued their game in the other room.

The burglar managed to take $1,175 from the table and then flew.

Rose, 66, the volunteer that was counting the money said the man came in, held the gun at her face and told her not to move because he did not want to hurt her.

Besides being scared, Rose said she was quite stunned, she simply could not believe a thief was standing there robbing a church.

According to the authorities, the man spent almost 30 minutes in the church hall waiting for his opportunity, giving time to surveillance cameras to catch him on video.

However, the man is still on the loose.
