Bingo Company raises funds for Charity

Making money is of course the main purpose for a company related to the Gambling business, but giving away money for charities is something very few companies are willing to do. Such is the case of Foxy Bingo in the UK, which organized a special event to raise money for one of the biggest fund raising events for children in the UK: Children in Need.

The event took place last Friday night 14th November. It had the purpose to raise as much money as it was possible.

The 2009 edition of the Manchester International Festival (MIF), an event that claims to be the world's first international festival of original, new work and special events will include on its program an original play based on a Bingo theme.

The play will be called “Everybody Loves a Winner” and it is planned to be on next year from July 1st until 18th at the Royal Exchange Theatre. It is about "a well-loved but overlooked pastime - bingo" and will involve elements of audience participation.

Besides receiving a telegram from Her Majesty the Queen to congratulate her on her 100th birthday, Muriel Walton received a great present from her local Gala Bingo Club: 100 days of free bingo.

The celebration included a special birthday cake and, of course, bingo games. “It was really nice for everyone to go to so much effort, it was great. I had a party on Saturday too and it was the first time in 12 years that all my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were in the same room together,” Muriel said.

A very lucky grandmother and bingo fan, who lives in London, recently took home a £34,000 National Bingo Game jackpot, which will allow her to visit her daughter in France. The winner was playing at the Mecca Bingo Hall in Eltham Hill, London, when she called bingo.

“It’s really going to change my life and I couldn’t thank bingo enough if I tried. Now we’ve got the money we can say, Yes, I can have this’ or ‘Yes, I can do that’ without even thinking about it. It’s lovely,” the lady said in tears. She scooped the National Bingo Game, plus the regional prize and the Mecca Bingo in house prize.
