The Red Cross wants to eliminate the Lucky 21 game

The Costa Rican Red Cross is going to ask the Constitutional Board to suspend the game Lucky 21, since they find that the activity affects the Tico Bingo because they are very similar. “We are the only institution authorized by law to play bingo in Costa Rica. We are not against Hogares having their own income, but they can’t take advantage of the bingo system which has many years”.

José Miguel Jiménez Meza, manager of Hogares crea, indicated that Lucky 21 is not a bingo. “Our game will go on because it’s authorized by the Social Protection Board of San Jose (JPS)”, Jiménez said.

Conference on online Bingo

Smoking ban was removed in bingo rooms

Bingo Caballito set a precedent when it managed to get the Justice to accept a precautionary measure that habilitated to smoke in that gambling room. Almost a month after a prohibition to smoke in all closed places that have public access was put into practice in the city, including the rooms in Buenos Aires.

The decision was reached after the appeal presented to the Court by lawyer Ruben Lombardi where they got doctor Juan Vicente Cataldo to order the government to hold provisionally the inspections based on law 1799.

Argentinean Bingo winner and Bingo hall go to court

The Argentinean woman that claims a bingo jackpot of $11 million and bingo operator Codere did not reach an agreement during a hearing that took place this week. Codere owns and operates a bingo hall where the woman hit the jackpot while playing on a slot machine.
During the hearing, the company took a stand by saying that it “will never offer more than what is fair; prizes are not subject to negotiations”. Hector Luna, Chief Executive for Codere, said: “We abide by the prizes regulations and gambling laws, which establish the maximum prizes per each machine and also the minimum and maximum wagers.”

New bingo hall in Bedford

The new bingo parlor is part of the Aspects Leisure Park, which is in the process of being renovated. “This will be a substantial investment for Bedford and, importantly, it can be delivered in a relatively short timescale,” Dan Bramwell, from Fieldfare Investments, said.

According to plans, the new bingo hall and the rest of the complex should be ready by the end of 2007. The renovation of the Aspects Leisure Park includes the building of a state-of-the-art gym.

A mother-of-three from Westwood, Peterborough was the lucky winner of a £200,000 bingo jackpot at the Gala Bingo. The woman, who is in her thirties, shouted “Bingo” after only forty numbers.
The woman hit the National Bingo prize of £200,000, plus de regional prize of £1,518 and the house prize of £318. “I never dreamed anything like this would ever happen to me,” the woman, whose name was not revealed, said. “I’ve never been so lucky in my whole life. Now I’m going to make sure my children get the best Christmas ever, and we’re all going to go out for lunch so I won’t even have to cook.”

Regulation of Bingos time schedule was approved

Last week, the Representatives Chamber approved the aforementioned project that was based mainly on the prevention of gambling addictions that have been growing a lot lately and health organizations are getting worried.
One of the alternatives that was being sustained by some municipalities of Buenos Aires, as is the case of Luján or Quilmes, is the restriction of the time that the bingo rooms remain open; which according to the municipal orders could not be open during the time frame that goes from the morning to 6 p.m., with the objective of discouraging the pathological addiction to gambling.
